The Polish incumbent telco TPSA has finally made a breakthrough in its efforts to become an important player in the country’s TV industry.
According to unofficial data obtained by Rzeczpospolita, its satellite delivered TV and internet package, launched at the end of October last year and employing Cyfra+’s infrastructure, secured 100,000 subscribers in its first three months of operation.
This contrasts sharply with TPSA’s IPTV service videostrada, which in its first two years only gained 57,000 customers.
IPTV has yet to make its presence felt in the Polish marketplace, with the total number of homes currently receiving services believed to be no higher than 150,000.
