French TNTSAT thanks a million

tntsatlogoThe French free-to-air platform TNTSAT secured over one million households by the end of 2008, satellite operator SES Astra has confirmed.

The landmark was reached only 16 months after the launch of the service, backed by pay-TV operator Canal+, and designed as a gap fill for the French digital terrestrial platform.

TNTSAT HD will launch on February 15, 2009 when the free to air high definition channels TF1 HD, France 2 HD, M6 HD and Arte HD will be added to Astra’s 19 degrees East orbital slot.
