InView expands Freeview EPG

November 27, 2008 12.02 Europe/London By Julian Clover

InView Interactive has signed a new deal with the receiver manufacturer Vestel that will deliver the Teletext Extra electronic programme guide into a further three million homes.

The Teletext Extra EPG extends the number of days available on the guide to 14. Three years after its launch InView is available across 21 different brands and 37 different receiver models. With the Vestel deal some three million customers will be able to use the service.

Coupled with the Freeview+ personal video recorder, the increasing number of integrated digital televisions and the standard DTT receiver, the UK consumer is facing an increasing number of purchase options.

In addition to the guide itself, Inview offers direct links to enhanced digital teletext services, and unlike the standard EPGs that vary from manufacturer to manufacturer offers broadcasters an opportunity to promote individual channels.
