The further privatisation of the incumbent Serbian telco Telekom Srbija is likely to be put back to 2010 due to the global economic crisis.
Quoted in the local press, its head Branko Radujko said that the telco’s value, which he put at currently being €2 billion, is likely to increase significantly in the next two years.
Although Telekom Srbija lists Greece’s OTE as a 20% shareholder, the remaining 80% is still held by the state.
This may eventually be reduced to 51%, with Deutsche Telekom, itself a shareholder in OTE, a prime candidate to acquire at least 15% in the Serbian telco.
