Romania’s RCS/RDS is bidding to buy the leading Hungarian alternative carrier HTCC.
Reports in the two countries say it is going head-to-head with Telenor and Mid Europa Partners for a 64.6% stake in the company currently held by Denmark’s TDF, the sale being organised by the investment bank BNP Paribas.
HTCC’s interests outside Hungary include Euroweb, a Romanian alternative telco, while RCS/RDS already has a presence in both the cable and DTH sectors in Hungary.
In its home market, RCS/RDS’s interests include the DTH platform Digi TV and the second largest cable operation.
