Canal Digital Denmark has begun arbitration proceedings against the country’s largest antenna network Glentevej Antennelaug (GAL) in a dispute over the carriage of broadband internet services.
The dispute centres on the acquisition by Canal Digital of OE Kabel TV two and a half years ago. The purchase also included the exclusive rights to use the return path to deliver internet services over the GAL network. GAL has now begun to offer its own internet service to two other aerial networks in Odense, which Canal Digital says is in clear violation of its agreement.
It is the first time that Canal Digital has commenced proceedings against one of Denmark’s antenna networks.
