Turner Broadcasting has hired the former managing director of radio station Heart FM as its vice president of marketing and communications across all the Turner Entertainment brands in the UK.
Barnaby Dawe takes up his new role today and will report to Dee Forbes, senior vice president and general manager of Turner Broadcasting UK and Ireland. Dawe will be responsible for marketing and communications on Cartoon Network, CN Too, Cartoonito, Boomerang, Turner Classic Movies, Adult Swim and Nuts TV.
Prior to Heart FM, which became London’s most listened to station, Dawe was director of marketing at Sky. Between 2000 and 2005 he launched 24 – which aired in its first season on BBC Two – and Nip/Tuck. Dawe was also at Channel 4 when the broadcaster launched Sex and the City, the largest marketing and PR campaign for a show at the time.
