Europe’s competition authorities have given their approval to Abertis Telecom’s €199 million bid for a 28.4% stake in the Spanish satellite operator Hispasat. The approval process will allow Albertis to become the largest shareholder in the five satellite fleet.
Abertis is purchasing the shares held by Ensafeca Holding Empresarial, the former Auna, (17.6%) and BBVA (10.8%).
In February the Spanish government gave its own approval to the deal.
