The Dutch DTH provider Canal Digitaal Satelliet says it has now reached one million active smart cards, making it once more the largest digital provider. However, the number of cards does not match the number of homes or paying subscribers. The total also includes additional cards in a single home, as well as those cards that only allow (free) reception of the three Dutch public channels.
In The Netherlands, the biggest digital cable platform is now the combined Zesko networks (@Home, Casema and Multikabel), with over 800,000 connected homes, followed by UPC with over 550,000 digital homes. KPN has more than 500,000 subscribers, mostly to its DTT service Digitenne.
