The German football league (Deutsche Fußball Liga/DFL) has opened up the tender process of the TV coverage of the live games and highlights. The monopoly commission Bundeskartelamt has given the green light to open te bidding, but will continue to investigate the matter.
During the next four weeks interested parties can register for the bidding process with the league. The Bundeskartelamt is still reviewing the contract between the DFL and Leo Kirch’s Sirius, which will produce the games and offer them as a complete product to broadcasters.
