Portugal Telecom (PT) has given credence to reports of a planned DTH satellite service. A company spokesman said Meo Satellite TV would offer a package of 70 channels from the Hispasat satellite. The 30 degrees East position is already used by ZON TV Cabo for its own DTH package.
Meo Satellite would be marketed to customers of PT’s existing triple-play service that includes broadband internet.
