France Telecom is set to buy the stake still held by the state in the Polish incumbent telco TPSA.
Speaking to the local press, treasury minister Aleksander Grad said that talks with France Telecom are already at an advanced stage. Should they fail, the stake will be floated at a time market conditions are favourable.
France Telecom currently holds a 48.58% interest in TPSA, with the next largest shareholder being Capital Research and Management Company with 10.46%. The Polish state treasury’s stake is 4.05%.
