The Prague District Court (NSS) is to review the digital TV licences awarded to six companies by the Czech Broadcasting Council (RRTV).
The licences to Febio TV, TV Barrandov, TV Pohoda, Ocko, RTA and Z1 were initially granted in April 2006 but subsequently withdrawn following protests.
They have since been reinstated as ‘compensatory’ licences following legislation that came into effect at the beginning of this year.
Local reports say that the NSS is obliged to review the awards following complaints from several other parties including the company Minority, which plans to launch a news channel named 5TV, Liberec-based TV Lyra and the national broadcaster Prima TV.
