Finnish networks supplier Teleste has been selected for a new fibre to the home deployment by the French Altice Group, which runs cable services under the Numericable brand. The value of the frame agreement is €3 million.
The Altice upgrade is part of a large scale deployment that is changing the network’s architecture from the traditional HFC towards deep fibre and its accompanying speeds of 100 Mbps suitable for high speed data, VOD, telephony and HDTV.
The use of the AC8000 optical node will also boost the capacity of the return path.
