It’s as you were for the UK’s coverage of European football with ITV retaining the rights to screen a first choice match from the Champions League every Wednesday.
The deal, which runs between 2009 and 2012, also includes coverage of the Champions League and Uefa Super Cup Finals.
Earlier this week it was announced that Sky had won the rights to the Tuesday night matches and the remaining Wednesday games. Bidding on the secondary package went into a second round amid speculation that the BBC and Five were also in the bidding. However, the Corporation issued a statement saying it had not entered the bidding at any stage.
