Russia’s Golden Telecom has posted a net profit of $152.6 million (€96.8 million) in 2007, or 77.9% more than in the previous year. At the same time, its revenue rose by 51.1% to $1.29 billion, while operating profit was up by 33.2% to $169 million.
Golden Telecom, which along with its subsidiary Corbina Telecom is becoming an increasingly important player in the IPTV sector, was recently acquired by VimpelCom, the country’s second largest mobile operator, in a deal worth $4.3 billion.
