The confusion surrounding the name of the Slovak public broadcaster’s third channel has finally been resolved. It is reported that the Broadcasting Council (Rada) has decided that, according to the terms of its licence, the service will be called STV Sport. STV Sport will make its debut on August 8, ahead of the Beijing Olympics, and initially be on air from 17.00-23.00 daily. The service plans to invest SKK70 million (€2.17 million) between September and the end of this year alone on securing sports rights. It already holds those for Formula 1.
