The gentle rise of pay elements aligned to Europe’s DTT platforms continues with Italian media giant Mediaset reporting 2,420,000 active clients for its Mediaset Premium service as of March 5. This compares to 2,067,000 on December 31, 2007, representing an increase of 353,000 clients in the two-month period. More than 2.3 million of the top-up (rechargeable) cards were sold with 6.3 million re-charges.
Revenues for the division doubled year-on-year to €225.9 million at the end of 2007 compared to €107.8 million at the end of 2006. Included was €94.3 million from the sale of football rights to other platforms.
