The US investment company CME has secured $475 million (€309.1 million) in additional funding for its operations in Central and Eastern Europe. It will initially be used to buy out remaining minority shareholders in its Ukrainian national station Studio 1+1, as well as seek out further opportunities in the country and across the region. CME has been present in Central and Europe since the early 1990s, launching TV Nova, one of the region’s first national commercial stations, in 1994. It is currently present in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania and Ukraine.
