The Slovak public broadcaster’s third channel STV3, which is due to make its debut on August 8, is reported to have secured carriage on the DTH platform Sky Link. However, it will not – at least initially – offer HD programming, broadcasting instead in both the 16:9 and 4:3 formats. The initial investment in the service, which will carry the Beijing Olympics, is expected to be in the region of SKK100 million (€ 3.02 million).
