Protests have erupted in Poland over the award of terrestrial frequencies by the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) to the regional stations TV Puls and TV4. According to a local report, TVN argues that they should only have been granted to stations licensed to offer universal rather than specific programming. TV Puls, which is backed by News Corp., recently had the terms of its licence changed by the KRRiT to one of universal service – a move that is also disputed by TVN.
