TV Barrandov is shortly expected to become the first digital TV channel to have its licence confirmed by the country’s Radio and TV Council (RRTV). According to a local report, the RRTV was given 60 days to make a decision after receiving applications for ‘compensatory’ licences from TV Barrandov and five other companies. Following a positive outcome, they will have 360 days to launch a service. A long-running dispute over digital TV licence awards was finally resolved in late 2007.
