ITV Partner sale confirmed

January 24, 2008 12.00 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Bulgarian MSO Eurocom Cable has been given the go-ahead to buy Interactive Technologies, the operator of ITV Partner, one of the country’s two DTH platforms. News of the proposed deal, the value of which is unknown, first emerged late last year when Eurocom Cable announced it was seeking permission from the Commission for the Protection of Competitionto take over Interactive Technologies. ITV Partner was launched in late 2004 and uses Eutelsat W2 at 16 degrees to offer 44 TV channels, seven radio stations and such additional services as PPV. It competes with the DTH platform Bulsatcom. Eurocom Cable is owned by Hungary’s third largest operator FiberNet, itself back by Warburg Pincus.
