The Slovak public broadcaster STV is projected to make a loss of SKK146,680,000 (€4.38 million) this year. According to local sources, its revenue will amount to SKK2,377,100,000, while outgoings should come to SKK2,523,780,000. STV plans to launch a third channel (STV3) on August 8 ahead of the Beijing Olympics that will offer some programming in HD.
