The Romanian incumbent telco Romtelecom has announced that is working on a plan that envisages lower profit this year ahead of growth in 2009 and 2010. The news was given to the local press by John Ioannidis, the company’s CEO, and the plan will be shortly submitted to its board for approval. Romtelecom is backed by the Greek incumbent OTE and operates Dolce TV, one of Romania’s five DTH platforms. It is also likely to launch an IPTV service sometime later this year.
