The Polish national Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) is reported to have fined the thematic channel Polsat Sport a total of PLN110,000 (€30,424) for breaching advertising rules. Specifically, it exceeded the amounted of airtime allocated to commercials and also carried advertising for alcohol before 22.00. The move highlights the problem currently faced by broadcasting in Poland, which the EC said in a report earlier this month exceeds the amount of permitted airtime for commercials more than almost any other country in the European Union.
