The new free-to-air channels that made their debut on the French DTT network (TNT) all said they were winners during the November round of viewing figures published by Mediametrie. The country’s biggest commercial broadcaster, TF1, is paying the price: for the first time in history, its audience share dropped below 30%, to 28.9%.
W9, part of the M6 group, achieved a 3.6% share, while NRJ12 and NT1 both had 2.1%, Direct8 1.4%, but with 3.7% TMC declared itself to be ‘the absolute TNT winner.’ The news channels were trailing behind. with BFM on 0.8% and i-Télé 0.6%
For the ‘historical channels’ (old analogue broadcasters) , the figures were: France 2 16.7 %, France 3 11.2%, M6 10.7 %, Canal + 1.9 %, France 5 3.7% and Arte 1.7 %. (All percentage are share of actual audience).
