The French football association Ligue de Football Professionnel today launched the tender for the Ligue 1 seasons 2008-09 through until 2011-12. The French State council (Conseil d’Etat) has agreed that this time a period of four years instead of the usual three year will be offered.
In order to maximise income, the association has decided to offer no less than 12 packages of games, including one set of games to be played Saturday evening at 21.00 and another with games on Sunday at 21.00. Also included are separate rights for the Saturday evening magazine programme containing highlights of the day’s matches and a package for mobile TV.
