Portugal Telecom has sold its remaining 8.3% shares in PT Multimedia, the country’s main cable operator and DTH platform. As planned, PT spun off the unit on November 7, but it has been criticised by the European Commission and the Portuguese competition authority for not actually giving up control as both companies share the same owners. The selling of the stake in PT does not resolve this issue.
