The Hungarian Telephone and Cable Corp. (HTCC) ended Q3 with 117,000 broadband ADSL subscribers, as opposed to 8,000 only 12 months earlier. The increase was primarily due to the acquisition of another alternative provider named Invitel. HTCC’s revenues in the quarter also benefited from Invitel, being, at $116.1 million (€79.1 million), 146% up on Q3 2006. HTCC is the second largest fixed line telco and broadband ISP in the country and currently claims over one million subscribers.
