Liberty Global’s UPC Broadband digital cable operations enjoyed strong growth in two West European markets in the third quarter, adding 13,700 subscribers in The Netherlands and an even more impressive 34,000 in Switzerland. Elsewhere, it saw more modest gains in Ireland (4,200) and Austria (1,000). Growth in Internet and telephony services was meanwhile most noticeable in The Netherlands, which added respective figures of 23,600 and 43,100 to its existing totals in the quarter. UPC Broadband’s revenues in Western Europe in Q3 amounted to $680.3 million (€464.2 million), or 12.3% more than in the same period 12 months earlier.
