Dutch DTH operator Canal Digitaal Satelliet said it has sold 100,000 so-called duo-LNBs, which enable reception of two satellites with a single dish. Including motorised dishes and third party LNBs, a total of 20% of its subscribers now have the possibility to watch both Astra 1 at 19.2 degrees East and Astra 3 at 23.5 degrees East.
Canal Digitaal is in the process of developing the second position as a new source of programming for the Dutch market. On Monday, the first seven new channels were launched on the orbital position as part of a new thematic bouquet. As reported in Broadband TV News, the new offer consists of Discovery Science, NatGeo Wild, HumorTV, ConsumentenTV, /Geschiedenis, HollandDoc and Nederland 4, which offers a choice of 13 public channels. On December 1 a further two or three channels will be added; these might include Discovery Civilisation, Discovery Travel and Sci-Fi Channel.
CDS also added Hustler TV to its premium offer.
