The Polish national commercial station Polsat has confirmed it applied to the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) earlier this month for a licence for a new info channel. At the same time, it lodged requests for licences for HD channels Polsat HD and Polsat Sport HD. The new info will be known as Polsat 24 and operate separately to TV Biznes, a business channel that Polsat acquired earlier this year. The latter has just secured carriage on UPC, Poland’s largest MSO.
