Slovakia’s leading MSO UPC Broadband Slovakia cannot set a date when it will stop its analogue cable service. Its Czech counterpart, however, is likely to become all-digital within a year. Both operations have introduced digital cable services this year, though UPC in the Czech Republic also inherited a base of digital cable subscribers from Karneval. UPC’s digital cable take-up, including former Karneval customers, could top 100,000 by the end of this year.
