RTL shows interest in Flanders (again)

August 27, 2007 11.44 Europe/London By Robert Briel

The RTL Group is still interested in setting up shop in Flanders, the Dutch speaking part of Belgium, according to Philippe Delusinne, of French language station RTL-TVi. Speaking at a press presentation of the upcoming season he said “There will be a time when we will be active on the Flemish market, we just can’t ignore it.”

In the recent past there have been rumours that RTL was interested in acquiring a (controlling) stake in VTM, the number one commercial broadcaster in Flanders. Delusinne confirmed this could be a possibility, another being the launch of its own Flemish channel.
