Losses at Fastweb were reduced in the second half on the back of an increase in sales revenues of 24% to €714.4 million. EBITDA at the Italian broadband provider climbed 75% to €223.8 million. First half losses totalled €14.9 million compared to €47 million a year earlier. In the second quarter 2007, Fastweb reported consolidated net profit of €5.8 million, compared with a net loss of €18.2 million in the same period in 2006.
In the second quarter the Swisscom-owned company added an additional 62,500 customers to reach 1,195,000 at the end of June.
Fastweb has recently introduced a self-install gateway product that combines a SiP-based voice unit with wi-fi access and a set-top box.
