Premiere has sold 45,000 subscriptions to its Bundesliga package since it became clear that top-flight football would be returning to the German DTH platform. In the two weeks since Arena ceded the rights to its former rival subscriptions have been selling at the rate of 3,000 a day. The upsurge followed the launch of a broad-based marketing campaign on July 27. Premiere is now anticipating the sale of some 200,000 Bundesliga subscriptions by the end of August with a third going to customers new to the platform.
“It is particularly pleasing that the Bundesliga sales are registering a large proportion of high-value package combinations, significantly increasing revenues per user among existing and new customers. We are again approaching a level comparable to what we had attained in the fall of 2005,” said Premiere’s perpetually optimistic CEO Dr Georg Kofler.
Premiere Fußball Bundesliga is being sold at €9.99 or as part of Premiere’s five-pack at a cost of €44.98.
