A member of its board of directors has suggested that the Polish public broadcaster TVP should be part privatised. Speaking to the local press, Robert Rynkun-Werner said that the sale of up to 49% of the station would both make its functioning more transparent and provide much-needed funds for digitalisation. Although the idea is nothing new – the privatisation of TVP’s second national channel was considered back in the 1990s – it is likely to find little support at the station and the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT).
