Former Vodafone Global Director of Networks and Service Platforms, Valerio Zingarelli, has been appointed as CEO of broadband TV outfit Babelgum. Zingarelli succeeds co-founder Erik Lumer in the post who will now focus his attentions on strategic product development.
Babelgum is currently developing its programming library ahead of a marketing campaign that will target English-speaking audiences. Once the campaign is underway the plan is to develop advertising revenues.
Recent content deals have included the Ministry of Sound and through Vudu Labs access to content from Walt Disney Studios, Lionsgate, New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox, Universal Studios, and Warner Bros.
