Spain’s Telefónica and Sogecable have signed a four-year agreement that will see them offer a new triple play service named Trio + from this November. It will consist of Telefónica’s Duo service (ADSL and voice) and the DTH service offered by Sogecable. The two parties have also agreed to join forces to buy pay-TV content in Spain, with Sogecable taking the lead in the process. Telefónica already has an ownership link with Sogecable, holding a 17% stake in the pay-TV company. Sogecable’s principal shareholder is Grupo Prisa.
