Germany’s competition commission has provisionally blocked plans by Kabel Deutschland to take an 18.6% stake in fellow cablenet Primacom.
KDG failed to notify the authorities of the commission and the Kartellamt is now investigating as to whether the purchase should be allowed under Germany’s tough competition rules. KDG says it is now in talks with the Kartellamt.
The purchase of Primacom would be important for KDG because the Level 4 operator would enable it to hold a direct relationship with the customer.
