The Czech Digital Televisions Association (ADT) is reported to have written an open letter to Ronald Lauder, the founder and owner of the US investment company CME, asking for his support for the digitalisation of TV services in the Czech Republic. CME owns TV Nova, the country’s most popular broadcaster, which last year successful campaigned for the withdrawal of digital licences awarded to the six members of ADT – TV Barrandov, Febio TV, TV Pohoda, Z1, Ocko and RTA. ADT believes that the Czech Republic could have up to 20 digital TV stations by 2009. Analogue switch off in the country is scheduled for 2010.
