Warner Bros. television said it will make selected television programmes available for the Joost online video service. The studio will launch a science fiction and a celebrity channel later this month. After an earlier similar deal announced with Turner Broadcasting System this is the second content agreement with a Time Warner company.
Earlier Joost also announced content deals with Sony Pictures Television, Hasbro, Endemol, Off the Fence and many others to offer good quality video in the dedicated Joost player on the web. Viewers can access Joost after downloading the proprietary client software first. It is an ‘invitation only’ service, but current users have the opportunity to send out unlimited invitations. During the previous beta phase of the project users could only send out a limited number of invitations to join.
