German operator Orion Cable, the holding company of EWT and TeleColumbus, is eying PrimaCom and Pepcom. The latter has about 500,000 connected homes in various German towns including Munich and Frankfurt. PrimaCom is active in Leipzig and the Rhein-Main area with some 930,000 customers.
Orion already owns 26.7% of PrimaCom. After the acquisition of the two cablers Orion Cable would become the largest Level 4 operator in Germany, even surpassing Kabel Deutschland KDG which owns mainly Level 3 networks and thus acts as a provider to Level 4 operators, who own the end customer.
