Pavel Dvorak, the president of the Czech Telecom Office (CTU), has told local sources that the Czech public broadcaster CT is likely to start DTT transmissions in the towns of Plzen and Pardubice later this year. He added that DTT-delivered HDTV services would probably not be launched in the Czech Republic until there is sufficient capacity available. The transition to digital broadcasting is being undertaken on a region-by-region basis, with the first to switch off its analogue signals being Domazlice and environs this summer.
