Microsoft TV has announced a host of new partners that support its Microsoft TV IPTV Edition software platform. Using the platform of the NAB technology show currently underway in Las Vegas, the company announced support from AMD, Intel Corporation, Pirelli Broadband Solutions, Sun Microsystems Inc and Thomson Grass Valley.
The companies cover a variety of disciplines including server processors, encoding solutions, set-top boxes and servers and storage. Microsoft TV already has support from a number of key technology companies including Scientific-Atlanta, Motorola, Philips, Harmonic and Tandberg.
The Microsoft IPTV software platform has now been selected by 16 service providers. Those that have been made public include AT&T, BT, Deutsche Telekom, Magyar Telekom, Slovak Telekom, TOL-France, TDC, Swisscom and Ya.com.
