The Russian DTH platforms Tricolor TV and NTV-Plus have begun to use the new Express-AMU1 satellite to deliver their services in the European part of the country.
The satellite, which is located at 36 degrees East, was launched on December 25 and passed its flight test programme, becoming fully operational on February 10.
As previously reported in Broadband TV News, Express-AMU1 is equipped with Ku- and Ka-band transponders for broadcast, including direct broadcast, and broadband data services serving the European part of Russia and sub-Saharan Africa.
