TV Nova and Prima TV, the two leading commercial broadcasters in the Czech Republic, have signed up to the country’s digitalisation plan.
In doing so, they have effectively handed over their analogue licences, which were valid until 2017/2018, and will be compensated with digital ones.
The Czech Republic is already well on the way to digitalisation, with DTT signals available to around half the population. By 2012 it should have four multiplexes offering a total of between 16-20 channels.
