Eutelsat CEO Rodolphe Belmer says it’s laying the foundations for long-term value creation.
His comments came as the Paris-based operator reported a 2% dip in revenues at €1,478 million.
Only government services finished ahead of 2015-16, though there remains momentum in the essential video services.
“Our performance was supported by solid commercial momentum in our core video business and in other verticals – particularly mobile connectivity, as well as the strengthening of our financial profile. In consequence, we are on track to achieve top-line stability in FY 2017-18, with a return to slight growth thereafter,” said Belmer.
Eutelsat has seen HD take-up accelerating at the Hotbird neighbourhood and there have been significant contract renewals in Europe and in MENA with Arqiva at 28 degrees East and Digiturk at 7 degrees East.
