The BBC has announced that during September 2017 BBC World News SD on satellite Astra 1L will cease.
However, the HD version of BBC World News will continue to be available from the Astra position at 19.2 degrees East.
The broadcaster urges its distribution partners, e.g. cable networks and IPTV operators, that take the SD version of the channel to re-tune to the Eutelsat Hotbird position at 13 degrees East where BBC World News SD will continue to be available.
To avoid loss of service, customers need to retune to the Hotbird frequency before 1 September 2017.
